Plain-language detail on what Graphgan Studio stores, where it lives, and who can see it.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

The short version

You need an account to use Graphgan Studio. Your projects — including the photos you upload — are saved to your account so you can pick them up on any device. Only you can see them. We don’t sell your data, we don’t advertise, and we don’t track you around the internet.

Your account

You can sign up with an email address and password, or with “Continue with Google.” We store your email address and the date you joined. Accounts and sign-in are handled by Supabase; passwords are stored by them in hashed form, and we never see your password. If you use Google sign-in, Google confirms your identity to us and shares your email address — we never see your Google password.

Your projects and photos

When you save a project, it is stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) and linked to your account. This is what lets the same pattern appear on your computer and your phone. A saved project includes the chart, your colors and settings, your reader progress, and a copy of the source photo you uploaded.

Access is enforced at the database level: your projects can only be read or changed by your own account. We do not look at your photos or patterns except in the rare case where you ask us for help with a specific project and give us permission.

What’s kept on your device

Your browser also keeps a working copy so the app stays fast and can be used offline while you crochet:

  • Saved projects and reader progress.
  • Unsaved editor drafts, so a refresh doesn’t lose your work.
  • Small preferences, like dark mode in the Reader.

When you sign out, we delete that local copy from the device — your projects stay safe in your account. If someone else signs in on the same browser, any leftover local work is cleared first so it can never end up in their account.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only, to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t use cookies to follow you across other websites.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see basic, aggregate traffic — things like how many people visited a page. It is cookie-free and does not build a profile of you or track you across other sites. It is not connected to your projects or your photos.

Crash reports

When Graphgan Studio hits an error, the error message, technical stack trace, and the page you were on are sent to us so we can fix the bug. Crash reports don’t include your photos, projects, or anything you’ve typed.

Who we share data with

We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers to run the app:

  • Vercel— hosting and analytics. As part of normal web hosting it receives request information such as IP address and browser type.
  • Supabase— accounts, sign-in, and the database where your projects are stored.
  • Google— only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. If we introduce paid subscriptions, payments will be handled by a payment processor that receives your billing details directly — and we’ll update this page before that launches.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account and projects until you delete them. You can delete any individual project from My Projects, and you can delete your entire account — along with every project and photo stored with it — yourself from your account page. That happens immediately and can’t be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. You can also ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing Support@graphganstudio.org. Your patterns can be exported as PDFs at any time, so you always have your own take-anywhere copy.

Children

Graphgan Studio isn’t directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account.

Changes & contact

We may update this page. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above, and we’ll tell you before anything meaningful changes about where your data lives. Questions? Email Support@graphganstudio.org.
